The shadow of self improvement 
Encased in a tenement 
Concrete walls 
Little to enthral
 
Driven through a cold heart 
The endless need to find a fresh start 
To keep building new 
To keep changing the environmental hue 

The drive for change 
Can drive one insane 
Never good enough 
A never shining butter cup 

There’s always more 
A belief in the eternal law 
The fear of scarcity 
The drive for diversity 

What if we just rest 
Digest 
Quietly observe the mess 
Put down this feeling of unrest 

Just feel the heart 
Without the need to pull everything apart 
Accept what is now 
Allow this to be our new vow
